Back then it was a luxurious pub built especially to service the nearby cattle market and good people of Worcester, named after a popular theatrical character of the time.

Today, The Paul Pry is a beautiful example of a well preserved late Victorian pub. Boasting original tiles, flooring and back bar, it is like stepping back to a bygone era!

Below is a link to a little history of the pub and also some images we have found on both the building and the name, if you would like to find out more about The Paul Pry, and other historical Worcester pubs, may I suggest picking up a copy of "Worcester Pubs Then and Now" by Bob Backenforth

Worcester born and bred, our immediate family comprises of Dad - Graham, Mum - Wendy and brothers - Tom, Jack, Edd and myself (Alex) oh and dogs Mollie, Bertie and, of course, pub dog in training ... little Alfie!

We started Popes Brewery in late 2012 in a small site on the Blackpole Trading Estate opening every Friday night and hosting some epic parties! Our plan was always to have a pub and The Paul Pry was a really nice fit...

We opened in February of 2017 and already have MANY fond memories we have shared with our customers and friends ... we have only just scratched the surface of what we have planned for this little pub so please pop in and get to know us and them a little better!
